RemitHope seeks to raise US$100 000 for 10 grassroots organisations in Africa

RemitHope, the fintech social enterprise founded by global philanthropist Tsitsi Masiyiwa, has unveiled an ambitious campaign to raise US$100,000 in 60 days for 10 community-based organisations across Africa.

Branded “100 for 10,” the initiative seeks to deliver critical support to projects tackling health, education, gender equity and community resilience. Beneficiaries span nine countries and include Cancerserve and Hands of Hope (Zimbabwe), Cáritas Regional de Chokwe (Mozambique), Empowered Girls (Tanzania), Ewang’an Nadede Advocacy Initiative (Kenya), Child Restoration Outreach (Uganda), Bana Ba Metsi (Botswana), Njira Impact (Malawi), Phelisanong Children’s Centre (Lesotho) and Refugee Children’s Project (South Africa).

“The 100 for 10 campaign is designed to transform small acts of generosity into lasting opportunities for communities too often overlooked,” Masiyiwa said. “Every dollar given delivers hope, dignity and the promise of progress.”

Running from 15 September to 15 November 2025, the drive draws on RemitHope’s model of transparency, real-time storytelling and direct funding to vetted local partners. To amplify impact, RemitHope will match every contribution dollar-for-dollar.

“If you give US $5, it becomes US $10; US $50 becomes US $100. We are multiplying hope and opportunity with every donation,” Masiyiwa added.

The campaign follows RemitHope’s recent success in raising over US $81,000 to rebuild Zimbabwe’s Mt Selinda Orphanage after a devastating fire, highlighting the platform’s ability to mobilise resources swiftly and effectively.

RemitHope aims to harness a fraction of the US $90 billion in annual diaspora remittances to Africa, targeting US $50 million for grassroots organisations over the next five years.

“100 for 10 channels the same spirit of unity we see in times of crisis toward long-term, community-led development,” Masiyiwa said.
