
HARARE — In a major boost to Zimbabwe’s digital security landscape, the ongoing Cybersecurity Conference has witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of ICT, Postal and Courier Services and Cyberus Technology Company, a leading Russian cybersecurity firm.
The agreement, signed in the presence of the Russian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, His Excellency Mr. Nikolai Vladimirovich Krasilnikov, marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of cybersecurity and digital resilience.
Cyberus Technology, which has been instrumental in developing advanced cybersecurity architecture for Russia and its international partners, is now expanding its collaboration with Zimbabwe to enhance national cyber defence systems and promote knowledge transfer.
Speaking at the event, officials from the Ministry of ICT commended the partnership as a timely intervention in fortifying Zimbabwe’s information infrastructure amid rising global cyber threats.
Cyberus Technology has been an active partner in the Ministry’s Cybersecurity Training Programme, which has already equipped more than 3,000 young men and women with critical digital security and risk management skills.
During the conference, the top ten trainees were presented with certificates in recognition of their excellence, dedication, and resilience throughout the training programme.
Officials expressed optimism that the new MoU will pave the way for greater innovation, capacity-building, and technological cooperation between Zimbabwe and Russia in the fight against cybercrime.
