HARARE – Vice President (Rtd.) General Constantino Chiwenga has advanced to the second stage of catechetical formation in his continued journey within the Catholic faith, church officials confirmed this week.

Chiwenga has completed the initial phase of instruction, which focuses on the foundational teachings and doctrines of the Church, and has now entered a deeper period of spiritual preparation marked by more intensive study and active participation in church life.

In this next phase, he is undergoing formation guided by the St Joseph model of discipleship — a framework that emphasises humility, obedience, service, and unwavering commitment to God. The stage typically involves structured learning, closer spiritual guidance, and reflective engagement designed to help candidates strengthen their faith and understanding of Catholic practice.

Church insiders say his progression reflects both personal devotion and adherence to the formal processes of spiritual development within the Catholic tradition.
