A Miami barber is speaking publicly for the first time after a customer pulled a gun on him during a dispute over a haircut, an incident captured on video that has sparked widespread outrage across social media.

Samuel Wilson, owner of The Square Cutz barbershop, was in the middle of a routine appointment when the client became increasingly agitated about his hairline. Moments later, the man stepped outside, returned with a firearm, and allegedly assaulted Wilson in full view of two young children.

The disturbing footage, filmed inside the shop, shows the man pointing the weapon at the barber before striking him and placing him in a chokehold. Another customer attempted to intervene as Wilson tried to calm the volatile situation.

“He wasn’t a man when he had that gun,” Wilson told Local 10 News. “He slapped me in the head with it, choked me out.”

Wilson said he never expected the confrontation to escalate so violently, noting that he had cut the customer’s hair “many times before” without incident. The attacker was reportedly wearing a county-issued uniform, adding further confusion to an already chaotic scene.

“I thought we might have fisticuffs, but I didn’t think he was going to come back with a firearm,” Wilson said. “I told him, ‘Have a good day.’”

The video, which has been circulating across Instagram and Facebook, has triggered outrage from viewers, many of whom expressed shock that children were forced to witness the ordeal.

Despite the trauma, Wilson said he remains committed to serving his community, where he has operated his shop for the past five years.

“This is a safe place for anybody,” he said. “I don’t hold no grudges. I can’t say I can forgive him, but I hope the best for you, homie. Have a good day and have a good life.”

Local authorities have not yet confirmed any arrests.
