JOHANNESBURG, South Africa — Cassava Technologies has announced that it has received a major investment from global tech giant NVIDIA, marking a significant milestone in its mission to accelerate Africa’s digital transformation.

Hardy Pemhiwa, President and Group CEO of Cassava Technologies, described the investment as a pivotal step for the company’s growth and vision. “Cassava is Africa’s leading technology company, driving the continent’s digital transformation with digital infrastructure and digital services. The latest funding positions NVIDIA among Cassava’s prominent investors, which already include Econet Group, British International Investment, Finnfund, Fund for Export Development in Africa (FEDA/Afreximbank), Gateway Capital, Google LLC, International Finance Corporation (IFC), Public Investment Corporation, and Royal Bafokeng Holdings.

Operating across Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America, Cassava Technologies continues to scale its reach through a portfolio of businesses such as Liquid Intelligent Technologies, Africa Data Centres, Liquid C2, Cassava.ai, and Sasai Fintech. The company currently provides products and services in 94 countries, underscoring its growing influence in global digital infrastructure and cloud innovation.

Industry observers view NVIDIA’s investment as a strategic endorsement of Africa’s burgeoning digital economy, especially as the continent increasingly embraces artificial intelligence, data centres, and cloud services. For Cassava, the partnership is expected to deepen its technological capabilities and strengthen its position as a key enabler of inclusive digital growth across emerging markets.
