A significant number of US investors are ready to partner Government in the tourism, mining and energy sectors, among others, with 14 American businesspeople showing keen interest to invest in Zimbabwe.
This emerged from a US delegation that participated at a business roundtable in New York, which was organised by Zimbabwe’s Embassy.
At the roundtable, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Professor Amon Murwira took the opportunity to market Zimbabwe as a safe, peaceful, ideal and best investment destination.
“Tourism remains a cornerstone of Zimbabwe’s economic growth. Zimbabwe is blessed with breathtaking natural heritage from the majestic Victoria Falls, one of the natural wonders of the world,” he said.
“Our policy thrust is focused on facilitating tourism as a strategic growth sector in our National Development Strategy, and we are keen to partner with investors to develop tourism and hospitality infrastructure, ecotourism and cultural tourism.
“Zimbabwe presents compelling opportunities for American investors in the energy sector, driven by significant power generation gap and strong Government commitment to renewable energy. The country enjoys some of the highest solar irradiation in the region and is actively promoting investment in solar, hydro, biomass and waste-to-energy projects …. ”
Zimbabwe, which is endowed with fabulous mineral resources, continues to attract investment from across the world.
Apart from peace and stability, its centrality makes it the best destination for those who want to invest in Southern Africa.
