HARARE – Scotland Football Club climbed to the summit of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League on Thursday after a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Manica Diamonds at Rufaro Stadium.
The crucial win lifts Scotland FC to 56 points from 29 matches, edging one point clear of reigning champions Simba Bhora, who are inactive this weekend.
Club officials celebrated the result on social media, posting: “Mabviravira on top!” in reference to the team’s nickname, as supporters hailed the side’s charge toward a possible maiden league title.
With just a handful of fixtures remaining, the pressure is now on Simba Bhora to respond when they return to action, while Scotland FC will look to maintain their slender lead in the race for the 2025 championship.
