Businesspeople from the Russian Federation’s automotive industry are interested in investing in the establishment of a Kamaz truck assembly plant in Mozambique.
The idea aims to boost the historic bilateral cooperation between the two countries, as well as support job creation, mobility and economic growth.
This intention was expressed by the new Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Mozambique, Vladmir Nicolaevich Taravov, during the presentation of credentials to President Daniel Chapo.
Without specifying a date for the launch of this initiative, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Maria dos Santos Lucas, speaking to the press on behalf of the President of the Republic, explained that Mozambique has already received and used Kamaz trucks for various purposes, and, due to the robustness of the equipment, the experience had been very positive.
Minister Maria dos Santos Lucas also noted that the installation of the plant would respond to the need to create more direct and indirect jobs through the provision of various services.
