Madonna claims she’s being ‘silenced’

Madonna claims she is being ‘silenced’ as her Glasgow show was plagued by technical problems on Sunday evening, December 20, only days after her Manchester show was delayed due to a video fault.

Madonna claims she was being ‘silenced’ as a power cut delayed her Glasgow show.

The ‘Like A Virgin’ hitmaker tried to perform an encore during her Rebel Heart tour at the Scottish capital’s SSE Hydro Arena but she was unable to play her last song as the power had already been disconnected.

Taking to Instagram, she wrote: “We don’t stop till its over Glasgow! Don’t try to silence the Queen.”

However, a spokesperson for the venue insists it was the 57-year-old singer’s team who shut the power off.

They said: “Madonna finished her agreed set and then chose to come on for another song.

“By that stage, all the power and control equipment had already been disconnected by her own production engineers. I would stress that this was not a venue decision.”

This is not the first time Madonna has suffered technical problems during her most recent tour.

Whilst she initially blasted the fans as complaining “bitches” for booing when she finally got on stage in Manchester, she later took to Facebook to explain what had happened.

She wrote: “FACTS: its good to have them before you jump to conclusions! The entire video for my show crashed as I arrived for sound check. The back up file was corrupt. We had no choice but to reboot and pray for a good outcome. The video lights 75% of my show. We can’t play in the dark. We were rebooted and ready by 9:30 even though we planned to go on earlier. I had to make cuts in show before show started. ‘Dress You Up’ was one of them and my third guitar song. This still brought us past the 11:00 curfew!”
