MASVINGO – A stitch in time saves nine. A 31-year-old man from Chikombezi Village under Chief Zimuto, who slapped a woman after she demanded $2 for the eggs he borrowed was fined $100 for the assault by a Masvingo magistrate or he would serve 30 days in jail.
Tichaona Chitiga (31) appeared before Magistrate Oliver Mudzongachiso facing charges of assaulting Castina Makazi after being asked why he had not yet paid the $2 for eggs.
The accused slapped Makazi with open hands on the chick and she sustained injuries.
Chitiga pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay $100 fine or 30 days in prison if he fails to pay.
